We provide critical advocacy and direct support to currently and formerly incarcerated people serving life sentences, and seek to transform the parole release process in New York State.
The Second Look Project, created by Professor Steve Zeidman with support from the Defenders Clinic, is dedicated to supporting incarcerated individuals in their clemency and parole petitions. To date, they have worked with more than 60 people, and secured freedom for 22. Having received 1,800+ requests, the work they plan to do for so many incredible reformed New Yorkers is only just beginning.
S&P New York is a grassroots prison abolition organization, dedicated to freeing criminalized survivors of gender violence held in prisons in New York. Currently, S&P New York is focused on #FreeThemNY campaign.

Becoming a RAPP Clemency Campaign partner organization in the advocacy work to make New York State's executive clemency process frequent, transparent, and inclusive is a crucial step toward achieving meaningful criminal justice reform. By joining forces with RAPP, we commit to championing the rights of incarcerated individuals, especially aging individuals who have served substantial sentences. Our collective goal is to push for clemency frequent, transparent, and inclusive.
